Anne's shortbread  

½ lb butter
9 ozs plain flour
2 ozs cornflour
Chopped glace cherries

Cream the butter and sugar.
Add the sifted flour and cornflour.
Roll out to about 4 or 5 mm thick and cut into shapes.
Place a small piece of glace cherry in the middle of each biscuit.
Bake in a moderate oven (about 280 degrees) for approx. 15 minutes.
