How to download and install a driver?

To install a driver for your device, follow these steps:

  1. First, click here to download the driver you want to install
    Make sure that you download the correct version for your operating system. Expand the file if it is compressed, and save it in a temporary directory to access later.

  2. Click [Add a printer] to activate the [Add a printer] Wizard.

  4. Click [Create a new port], click [Standard TCP/IP Port] in the "Type of port" list, and then click [Next].

  5. Type your device's IP address in the "Hostname or IP address" box, and then uncheck "Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use", and then click [Next].
    Here, "192.168.10.100" has been entered as an example.

    Once the TCP/IP port is found, the printer driver install screen appears.

  7. On the printer driver install screen, click [Have Disk].

    Note: To use a pre-installed Windows Vista driver, click [Ricoh] in the "Manufacturers" box, click the desired driver in the "Printers" box, and move on to step 14.

  8. Click [Browse].

  9. Specify the driver folder you saved earlier in step 1.
    Here, we are using a folder "r22770en" as an example.

  10. Confirm that "disk1" is displayed in the "Look in" box and the ".INF" file is selected in file name, and then click [Open].

  11. Confirm that the folder located in the above step is shown in the "Copy manufacturer's files from" box, and then click [OK].

  12. Click on your device in the "Printers" box, and then click [Next].

  13. Enter a printer name, and click [Set as the default printer] if you want the device to be your default printer once it is installed. Then, click [Next].

  14. The driver file is installed.
  15. If a user account access rights warning appears during the installation, click [Continue].
  16. If a Windows security warning appears during the installation, click [Install this software].

  17. Click [Print a test page] if you want to print a test page, and then click [Finish] once you are done.

  18. Note: If you click [Print a test page], the following window will be displayed.

  19. Confirm that a new printer icon has been added to your Printers list.

How to fan paper to avoid unnecessary paper jams?

Learn how to fan paper for your Ricoh device to avoid unnecessary paper jams and keep your printer happy.

These are the steps:
  1. Unpack the paper ream.

  2. Hold the ream at the short edges.

  3. Bring your hands together, curling the ream up into a ‘U’ shape.

  4. Rotate your hands to curl the paper outwards until the top sheets are flat.

  5. Place the fanned ream in the paper tray.

  6. Enter the name, and then press [OK].

How to register the necessary user codes to the address book?

  1. On the operation panel of the device, press the [User Tools/Counter] key.

  9. Select the functions that this user will be able to use. After you have entered this information, press [OK].

How to configure email addresses so you can scan to email?

Wanting to scan to email is a very common request from customers. Customers want to know how to save their email addresses so they appear as tiles in the scan screen. Here is a step by step process of how I guide them through adding their email addresses (either over the phone or in person).

  1. Press the button on the side of your photocopier panel labeled ‘User Tools/Counter’. This will bring you to the User Tools screen. Press [System Settings].

    On the operation panel of the device, press the [User Tools/Counter] key.
  2. This will bring you to the System Settings page. There are a number of tabs across the top of this screen. Press the tab right up the end that is named [Administrator Tools].

  3. On the [Administrator Tools] tab, press [Address Book Management].
    On the [Administrator Tools] tab, press [Address Book Management].

  4. Press [New Program].

  5. On this page, you can add a new email address, fax number, set up a user code or add a folder. The first thing to do is add your name. Click the button that says [change] under the blue box next to [name]. This will allow you to enter your name using a small keyboard on the panel. Once your name is in, press [ok]. When you have returned to this screen, press [E-mail].

  6. This page directs you to add your email address. When you press the button [change] the small keyboard on the screen will be displayed and you can type your email in. Press [ok], and then press [ok] again.
    Enter the name, and then press [OK].
  7. This will bring you back to the original Address book management screen. You will see your entry has now created a tile. Press [Exit], and then [Exit] again to bring you back to your normal copy screen. The tile you created will now appear on the scan screen. You’re all set to scan to email.
    [Key Display] is automatically set to the same as [Name]
